The best exhibits in Tuscany this spring

One of the best reasons to come visit Italy is not only for the stunning landscape and gastronomic successes but also to see of the most important masterpieces in the art world. 2014 is slated to be a year of art better than ever with exciting new exhibits all over Tuscany that visitors should be on the lookout for.

If you are visiting Florence, you won’t want to miss this list covered by Tuscany Arts, in the city most known for the Renaissance, 2014 will have at least nine temporary exhibits to savor. This includes,  The rooms of the muse. Baroque paintings from the collection of Francesco Molinari Pradelli at  the Uffizi Gallery from February 11 until  May 11, Recognize Michelangelo. The sculpture of Buonarroti in photography and painting from the nineteenth century to today at the Accademia Gallery from February 18 until May 18 to name a few.

Enjoy contemporary art? Why not check out A bridge between Pisa and Santa Croce sull’Arno dedicated to Moataz Nasr, one of the most renowned Arab artists on the international contemporary art scene (exhibit runs until February 9th), which you can visit at Centro Espositivo SMS San Michele degli Scalzi on Viale delle Piagge, Pisa. Opening times are from Tuesday to Friday 4-7pm, Saturday and Sunday 11am-7pm; Free admission.

Or why not visit an orginal museum not far from Villa Campestri Olive Oil resort? We adore The Museum of Knives and Cutting Tools in Scarperia. Knife-making has been an artform in Scarperia, Tuscany for centuries and this museum not only holds an impressive collection of culinary tools, but also shows visitors how to dismantle and assemble a knife. Plus the “knife makers” workshop (Bottega del Coltellinaio) is located next door to the museum where you can see artisans live in action!
