Christmas time in Tuscany is as special as anywhere else in the world celebrating the holiday season. Towns all over the region decorate their streets with pretty Christmas lights and decorations which make each place come alive.
Also at Villa Campestri, we enjoy in the traditions passed down after generations, making panettone cake or whipping up some traditional panforte or crostini di fegatini, all while decorating our Christmas tree and preparing for the grand feast on December 25th, choosing a fish-based lighter meal, the day before.
Our traditional decorations are blended with new styles over the years, with a shabby-chic look this year including tougher textures with simple colors, to make our table a beautiful backdrop to a truly wonderful family dinner. The perfect place to pick up such items are from the many, wonderful Christmas markets all around Tuscany that sell decorations and ornaments or from Made in Tuscany stores online. You can definitely look at the social network pinterest for inspiration, like this board. (see our photos below).
It’s easy to use tools from your surrounding environment to complete your holiday look. We use pine-cones from the surrounding hills and chestnuts to garnish our tables, with pops of red and gold. From the trees nearby, we collect branches to create wreaths and simple table decorations to be match with scented candles in big glass jars. Keeping it simple has never been so pretty. Decorative throws and pillows from Tuscan texture factories complete the look.
