Urban hiking in Florence, Italy

Urban hiking is a now a recognizable term around the world used to describe checking out a city on your two feet. While traditional hiking envisions mountains green pastures – an urban hike combines discovering a city any way you desire in the healthiest and environmentally-friendly way possible – on foot! 

Florence, Italy is one of the important cities in the world for not only incredible artistic heritage, but also stunning panoramic points and culinary delights. Home to such masterpieces such as Michelangelo’s David, the Ponte Vecchio and the Vasari Corridor, there is so much to see in this charming walkable city.

Luckily for those staying at Villa Campestri olive oil resort, visiting Florence is a very short train ride from the nearby Borgo San Lorenzo and makes for the perfect urban hiking day trip. Start your day off with an easy hike to beautiful panoramic point Piazzale Michelangelo, stop for a coffee at charming Cafe degli Artigiani in Piazza della Passera and tuck into some Tuscany delights at Osteria il Buongustai close to Piazza della Signora on your way to see the Medici Chapels.
